Despite its lovely old feel, the town Hazelbrook is quite extensive. The local shops have most modern conveniences and is a short walk away from the bush surrounds and walks to waterfalls. Within the town, are many antique and souvenir stores for those who are after a unique item to take away from their visit.
Gardens in Hazelbrook open to the public in Spring (September-October), as the floral brilliance of the mountains attracts visitors all over the region. The terrace falls reserve is simply adored by locals although for some reason hasn't caught on as much with tourists. It has absolutely gorgeous scenery and birdlife, and waterfalls that are as grand and spectacular as any in the mountains. The walk isn't the easiest but is well worth it.
