About Springwood Country Club
In 1976 a young golfer called Greg Norman known by his mates as "bomber" competed in the Springwood Pro-Am making a big impression both on the course and in the club-house. Arriving in the district with little money on an uncertain road, he was boarded with one of the local members for the 2 days of the tournament. As with the Springwood Country Club, the rest is history.
Springwood Golf Club, rich in its history and boasting a superbly equipped Golf Course, is the perfect place to round off your stay in the Blue Mountains. The club which has been established for almost 100 years will warmly welcome you as a visitor or to become a member to play golf and to enjoy the entertainment provided in the clubhouse.
Springwood Country Club is a golf and social club set just a short drive from the centre of town. With panoramic views of the city, it takes full advantage of the natural terrain and being only 1000 ft above sea level gets the best of the mountain weather.
Springwood Country Club is situated just off the Great Western Highway one hour out of Sydney. It is about 1 km from the town centre along the Hawkesbury Road towards Winmalee. There is also an excellent train service to the Blue Mountains from Sydney and taxis at the station. Ample accommodation and restaurants are available in the vicinity.

About the Course
Course Description
The course is designed to blend into the undulating terrain with subtle breaks on all greens and is interesting and challenging without being long. The course includes practice nets and fairway. The walk is very pleasant with excellent views of Sydney off the first and tenth tees when on a clear day it is possible to see the Sydney Harbour Bridge. There is abundant bird-life throughout the course including King Parrots and Eastern and Crimson Rosellas which are used as a logo on club balls and shirts.
The Pro Shop
Springwood Golf Club has its own Pro Shop, which is stocked with quality equipment to get you through your game and maybe even help you enhance your game.
The Club Professional
The Club Professional, Joe Moore, is a local Springwood boy. Joe played on the PGA tour for 5 years and contested 22 major tournaments. During this time he had 2 Pro-Am wins but discovered his forte was teaching and became the club pro at Ashlar, then Hume at Albury followed by Glenmore NSW. Now back on his home strip, Joe provides quality lessons to players of all levels, which you can arrange by calling Joe on (61 2) 4751 2484.
There are also Junior Clinics for cadet members, which are conducted each Wednesday from 4 - 5pm and on Saturdays at 3pm. For cadet members clinics cost $5 per session or $10 for non-cadet members.
Overall, this proud Club has been around long enough to know that providing visitors with a quality Golf Course is only half the job, and a committment to excellent service, staff and amenities make up the other half of a great Golf Club. Why not book yourself a game at Springwood on your next mountains Holiday.
