With An IGA supermarket and McDonalds amongst other shops along the main highway, Blaxland is a popular spot to grab quick supplies and a bite to eat on the run. Video stores, Vet Clinics, Paint stores and mechanics all service a fairly large residential base, both in Blaxland and in the smaller surrounding towns.
2 pubs located within close proximity allow for traditional recreation, as do the array of restaurants including Chinese, Italian, Bistro, Pizza and Seafood. The wascoe siding mini railway is a reflection of the importance of rail in the mountains history, and offers a different way to relax and spend the day.
Despite its beautiful bush setting, bushwalks are limited, although Florabella Pass is a popular 2 hour walk through gullies and forestry. For other walks, Glenbrook is the nearest access point for the national park and for walks at the lower part of the Blue Mountains.
