Weatherforecasts worldwide are prepared using local meteorological agency information combined with meteorologists analysing the most up to date information, global weather models and satellite data available. This enables us to provide the most accurate forecasts possible. Current conditions are obtained from observing stations all over the world and are available from our extensive database
Timeliness of weather data
Weather data displayed on this website is delivered on an hourly basis at the top of the hour. This data may contain weather information that was collected between 30 to 60 minutes earlier for certain locations around Australia. Generally, Meteorological Offices (MO) in cities and towns or major locations report half hourly or hourly. Remote weather stations or Automated Weather Stations (AWS) may report weather hourly, 3-hourly or even less frequently.
